I have a laptop computer that I've been using instead of a desktop PC. I have an external keyboard and mouse that I use instead of the small laptop ones. I also have a laptop battery that I have not used yet. It is the standard 9-cell battery that came with the computer.
Is there something I I can do now to extend the laptop battery's life before I first charge it since I've been using the computer with the wall charger so far? My brother told me to discharge it completely on a weekly basis and fully recharge it. I have also heard that leaving the laptop plugged in all the time is bad for replacement laptop batties. Is this true? And what should I do regarding my battery if im not really planning on using all that much?
I will be using the laptop solely on battery power when I go on trips and a lot of the time while I'm away at school.
You are right about that. Every week or every other week, disconnect the battery and use it until it is pretty much discharged. Then plug it back in and fully recharge it. This is what I’ve baan doing with my laptop battery and it’s seemed to work out for me.
