Emnem asked:
I write many articles a week, maybe sixty a week and up to 10 articles a day. These articles have a minimum of two thousand characters. I am looking for a laptop with a good word processor, a strong keyboard and a reliable WiFi connection. I'd also like a laptop with a long operating life either with the standard battery or using replacement laptop batteries.
What's a good laptop for the price? Where's the best place to get generic replacement laptop batteries?
Dell laptop computers come in a wide variety of configurations, and their consumer oriented laptops (i.e., not geek geared) offer a very good value. However, the writing features will be associated with the software package that you use. You’d be best served with MS Word or its Open Office equivalent.
I do a lot of writing and have a Sony Vaio and I’ve been very, very happy with it. It has a nice keyboard and mouse and a top notch display. However, for the amount of writing that you seem to be doing, I think that I’d also suggest an external keyboard to take some of the pounding off of the built in keyboard.
